Overview
Syria is a country on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the area is about 180,000 km2. There are 14 governorates in Syria,A lot of civilizations lived in Syria because of the importance of its strategic site. So, the Sumerians, Amorites, Hittites, Arameans, Phoenicians, Persians, Greeks, Saluccans, Romans, and the Byzentines left their relics all over Syria. This history can be applied on all cities of Syria. The Romans looked after the Syrian cities well. There used to be Roman emperors from Syria such as Septimus Severus, Carkalla, Elagabal, Alexander Severus, and Philip the Arab.
Syria is considered a museum in the open air.

Itinerary
Arrival at the hotel, then making an orientation around the area
After having breakfast at the hotel, pay a visit to the National Museum which consists mainly of three parts, the Classic, Byzantine, and Islamic parts. The garden of the museum is considered as an open-air museum.
Have a look at Al Hamadiyeh Souq or the market place to explore different kinds of goods.
At the end of the Souq stands Omayyad Mosque which is unique in its architecture and mosaic.
Then move to the Ottoman Al Azem palace and Asaad Basha caravan serai that gives us an idea about the 18th century life; and the style of the Damascus houses.
Lunch will be at one of the local restaurants in the old city.
After that walking along The straight street to explore the beauty and the Byzantine architecture of the Mariamite Cathedral.
Go on walking to get to the eastern gate of Damascus where the coach is, to have a panoramic view of Damascus from Qasioun Mount
